When and Where is Early Voting?

WHEN: 

  • August 28 –August 31, 11 am–7 pm
  • September 3, 11 am–7 pm

  • September 4–September 8, 7 am–7 pm

These are the Early Voting Locations for both the Primary and General Elections. You can Vote Early at ANY location in Sussex County:

Can I still change my party for the Primary?

Probably Not.  May 2024 was the deadline to change your party for the 2024 Elections.


WITH THIS EXCEPTION, per the Department of Elections:

Voters registered at DMV through Automatic Voter Registration (AVR) by August 17, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. and have their party listed as No Party-AVR may change their political party affiliation up to and including on State Primary Election Day, September 10, 2024, in order to vote in their party's State Primary.


How Can I Vote by Absentee Ballot?

Quick look at the process:

  • You Request a ballot by filling out an "Application Statement" form

  • You return that completed form to Department of Elections (DOE)

  • DOE sends you a ballot

  • You return the completed ballot

Deadlines for Absentee Ballots for theDE State Primary:

9/6/24 for DOE to mail it to you

9/9/24 for DOE to give you an Absentee Ballot in person

9/10/24 for you to return the Absentee Ballot to the DOE (not a polling place)

 

How to get an Absentee Ballot:
Option 1:  Request an Absentee Ballot onlineClick to go to the Delaware Voter Portal. Lookup your record, and click on "Request an Absentee Ballot".

 

Option 2:  Click to display and print this "Application Statement" form.  Complete it and return it to Department of Elections as instructed on the form by fax, email, mail or in person.

Option 3:  Request an Absentee Ballot by MailCall Dept of Elections (302) 856-5367 and ask them to mail you an application.
Option 4:  Go in person to the Georgetown office of DOE
When and Where Do I Vote Election Day?

WHEN:  SEPTEMBER 10, 7AM to 8PM

WHERE:  Your normal polling location assigned by the Dept. of Elections.

Polling cards confirming voting locations are being mailed to all registered voters in August by the Department of Elections.
