The federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is holding in-person and virtual public meetings to present plans for the private construction of offshore wind turbines. This proposed project would be in addition to the wind farm project approved by the BOEM on September 5.
In-Person Meeting:
September 25, 2024
5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Fairfield Inn and Suites Rehoboth Beach
19113 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth Beach
Virtual Meeting:
October 2, 2024
6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
These events will allow the public to learn more about the agency's planning process through interactive stations and individualized discussions with BOEM staff. Attendees will also have an opportunity to provide official public comments in writing or via oral recording and transcription at the meeting's Public Comment Station. The meeting will not include a formal oral comment period.
The proposed project is in Maryland-controlled waters on federally leased land. This hearing will not consider the separate proposal of allowing the wind farm's transmission cables to come ashore in Delaware to link to the regional power grid.
