National RNC Convention Recap

The 2024 RNC National Convention is now in the books, but not before being the most unifying, patriotic, and AWESOME event in RNC history!  President Trump showed the epitome of courage, patriotism, and resolve when he fist-pumped the crowd and shouted the now famous battle cry, “Fight, Fight, Fight” despite the gun-shot wound to his ear at the rally in Butler, PA on Saturday, July 13th.  This chant was repeated time and time again at the convention and sparked the electrifying atmosphere everyone witnessed on national television.

The convention rivaled any rock concert you have ever attended when President Trump made his triumphant entrance with Lee Greenwood’s song, “God Bless the USA,” playing in the background.  The love and support of his family was more than evident and his granddaughter’s speech touched the hearts of everyone.  Having the 13 Gold Star families on stage brought tears to many eyes as did those families of victims of violence and drug overdose at the hands of illegal aliens.  Religious leaders from many faiths highlighted the evening speeches and joined in solidarity to the plight of the Jewish people in Israel.  There were many, many signs in the crowd of 50,000 stating, “Jews for Trump.”

Hulk Hogan brought the house down on Thursday night with his ‘unique’ tribute to President Trump!  The crowd was loud and proud!!!  President Trump was visibly humbled by God’s grace in sparing his life and shared his personal story with everyone before highlighting the 10 points of his Platform.  Everyone left the venue with a renewed sense of purpose and a laser focus on WINNING for Republican candidates up and down the ticket this November.

The Delaware delegation may have been small in comparison to other state delegations, but they certainly were not invisible.  Many of us were interviewed by reporters from all over the world and our state chair, Julianne Murray, made history by being chosen at the Co-chair of the RNC Rules Committee (a big deal!), and appearing on stage in front of the entire convention to deliver her remarks.  She has single handily put Delaware on the map with the RNC.

Sussex County was well represented and, I must say, very visible on the convention jumbotron, national television screen shots on major networks as well as prominent newspapers.  Attendees from Sussex County included our State Chair, Julianne Murray, Drew & Barb Sunderlin, Jennifer Quinn, Lee Carey, Michelle Parsons, Alison Iavarone, Danny Willis, and Bob Reed.  I know that every one of us will say that this was a once in a life-time experience.
