Memorial Day is observed this coming Monday to honor all military members who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in U.S. forces in any current or previous wars. Originally called "Decoration Day," it's roots go back to the Civil War. It was declared a national holiday by Congress in 1971.
While many associate the holiday with the "official" start of summer, we need to put aside the commercialism and dedicate the day to prayer for all the souls "who gave all" for us to live free. As Republicans we honor our military who exemplify putting "service before self." Take the time on Monday to attend a Memorial Day ceremony and rededicate yourself to God and Country and honor all of our fallen soldiers.
May God continue to bless the USA.
