"Back the Blue" Caravan 2025
This is the 7th year of the BTB Caravan.
Many of us return each year to be part of this simple, powerful way to let our own local Police, who are here protecting us every day, know we support and appreciate their service.
Take the time join us in a caravan, or 2, or 3!
Take home that really nice feeling that you made a difference.
Details are below in Drew Sunderlin's letter.

"Back the Blue" Caravan
Hello everyone,
It is that time of year again when we gather to thank our wonderful men and women in blue for their dedicated service to our community. This year we will once again go County-wide! There are three separate caravans on three separate days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, May 13, 14, 15th, 2025). You can sign up for any or all these Caravans, just let me know which one(s) you choose. The start time for each day will be 10 am – finishing up between noon and 1 pm, dependent on number of stops.
Tuesday, May 13th – Rt. 1 Caravan- we honor the following police departments: Fenwick Island, South Bethany, Bethany Beach, Ocean View, Dewey Beach, Rehoboth Beach, Troop 7, Lewes, and Milton
Wednesday, May 14th – Rt. 113 Caravan- we honor the following police departments: Selbyville, Frankford, Dagsboro, Millsboro, Troop 4, Probation & Parole, Georgetown, and Ellendale
Thursday, May 15th – Rt. 13 Caravan- we honor the following police departments: Delmar, Laurel, Seaford, Bridgeville, Blades, Troop 5, and Greenwood
There will be a prize for the best decorated car on each Caravan route (decided by voting at each stop by the honorees). The car with the most votes overall on each Caravan route – wins.
Each car is to provide a “Thank you note” for each police department on your route AND sealed snacks like: power bars, granola bars, cookies, candy, packages of chips, etc. No unsealed gifts, please. The Thank You Note is the most important and, if there is more than one person in the car, you can split up the snack assignments.
The entire Caravan trip will take about 2+ hours of your time and you WILL come away from the experience with a major smile on your face and know that you have really made someone’s day!
Please pass this message on to your friends who you think might enjoy this wonderful way of saying, “Thank You” to our men and women in BLUE!
My best,
Drew Sunderlin

What is
National Police Week?
In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.
National Police Week is a collaborative effort of many organizations dedicated to honoring America’s law enforcement community.
